1. What is UV printing on neon signs?
UV printing is a printing method that uses UV ink that is fixed by ultraviolet light.
(What is UV ink? This ink undergoes a photochemical reaction with ultraviolet energy, hardening from a liquid state to a solid in a matter of seconds and forming a film .
UV printing forms a hard film instantly, which makes it more abrasion-resistant than oil-based inks, making it ideal for printing on acrylic panels. In addition, the ink film is hard and therefore less susceptible to scratches, making it highly durable. (The ink film refers to the thick part where the ink is applied.)
In terms of design, you can print your favorite designs, letters, and images on the normally transparent acrylic plate, and you can also express detailed designs that cannot be expressed with neon alone. By combining neon light with illustrations and other pictures, you can create not only a signboard but also a one-of-a-kind work of art!
If there is a disadvantage, it is that if you print on the acrylic plate in one color, filling it completely with no gaps (solid color), it will not be transparent, so those who prefer a transparent design should be careful.

3. Fine-tuning design and color
After receiving your inquiry, we will decide on the color based on your image design. You can choose the color to be used for the neon sign by looking at the color sample.

5. Completion
We went into production and here is the finished product. The neon sign that was created from the initial design data is colorful and very beautiful.
This neon sign has been UV printed, giving it a very cute design whether the lights are on or off. UV printing allows for more freedom of expression than regular neon signs, so it looks like art even without the lights on.
The shop that placed the order this time was Sweets Quest, which opened in front of JR Banshu Ako Station in Hyogo Prefecture.
The shop is open 24 hours a day and sells a wide range of sweets, from the bottled "Mitarashi Dango" that has become a hot topic nationwide, to canned pancakes, fruit sandwiches, healthy teas, and dried fruit, making it extremely popular with locals.
The wonderful owner was supported by Ako customers during the difficult time caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to open the restaurant as a way to give back and revitalize the local area.
